Bartending Jobs In Cleveland
There is always a rise for the bartending jobs in Cleveland. For several of these openings there is always a growth and construction that takes credit. But other openings are just results of the standard turnover that’s common in this field. Some bartenders move around a lot. Maybe it’s because a skilled bartender can find a job any where without much trouble since there’s always a need for their services.
According to a U.S. Department of Labor report, Ohio had over 485,000 bartenders actively employed in 2006. Those figures have undoubtedly increased since that report was released.
Restaurants and bars, pubs and lounges employ the most. But, that’s to be expected. Hotels hire another large percentage of the employed bartenders. These figures also include the bartenders hired for special events and other miscellaneous bartending jobs.
Finding the right bartending job in Cleveland shouldn’t be a difficult task. Reading the newspaper’s classified ads or checking on the internet, should provide you with a list that will surely please any unemployed bartender.
But if none of the listings interest you, find a place where you would be interested in working, walk on in and apply for a job. Some places don’t even know their looking for you until you get there.
Don’t be discouraged by a low starting salary. A good bartender can make $200-$300 a shift in the right place. And a good bartender can make anyplace the “right” place. One way to increase your business and your tips is by learning a little flair bartending. That’s making and serving drinks with a little added panache or flair. Word of your entertaining methods will spread quickly and soon customers will come to watch you as much as they come to drink. Just be sure you’re able to do this without spilling or breaking anything. And be sure you can do it without wasting time or effort when you’re busy. Some customers won’t mind a little wait while they’re being entertained, but other staff (incapable of flair bartending) might have a problem with it. Also be sure you have the approval of your management.
